On the afternoon of 25 September, CRETUS will once again take part in G-Night, the European Researchers’ Night, bringing its research closer to society through interactive activities for all audiences.
An afternoon to learn, experiment, make decisions and discover first-hand how research contributes to addressing some of the major environmental and social challenges of our time.
Through the cooperative game Blue Cycle Mission: Save the Blue Estuary, participants will make decisions to protect an estuary and discover how our actions affect the marine environment and the sustainability of activities linked to the blue economy.
In Ocean Guardians, interactive challenges inspired by video games will tackle the problem of marine litter and show how small everyday actions and decisions can contribute to the conservation of marine ecosystems.
The activity Make Your Own Technosol will allow participants to experiment with materials used in research to design solutions to real environmental problems and discover how science can contribute to the recovery and restoration of degraded soils.
Finally, From Fish Waste to Gummies and Bioplastics will show how waste from fishing activities can be transformed into new value-added materials, such as gelatine and biodegradable bioplastics, highlighting the potential of the circular economy in research.
