AMBIOSOL

SOIL AND LANDSCAPE CARTOGRAPHY, PHYSICOCHEMISTRY, DEGRADATION AND RECOVERY OF SOILS AND WATERS (AMBIOSOL)

The group specializes in Soil Science, Biogeochemistry and Geomorphology. Performs actions derived from the knowledge of soils with special attention to Chemistry, Mineralogy, Classification, Evaluation, Genesis of Soils and applications to Pollution and Recovery of Soils, Water and ecosystems. It also pays attention to other nearby fields: Evaluation of resources and Environmental Impacts, Waste Management, Sources and sinks of Carbon, Characterization of habitats and ecosystems, Dynamics and evolution of the landscape and resolution of environmental problems, through the application of the basic principles of Geomorphology, Biogeochemistry and Soil Science in Circular Economy systems. Competitive Reference Group since 2007

SOIL QUALITY ASSESSMENT

The research group works primarily on soil degradation, quality assessment and control of the recovery of degraded soils. Its main lines of research include the biochemical quality of the soil, the influence of the use of the soil on its quality, the contamination of the soil by heavy metals or the agronomic recovery of compost and waste
