Ecotoxicology and Vexetal Ecophysiology

The group was formed in 1988 and currently bases its activity on two lines of research: Plant Ecophysiology, characterization of plant responses and adaptations to stress and Ecotoxicology where methods of biomonitoring of the ecological quality of the terrestrial and aquatic environment are developed (river and marine), based on the body analysis of pollutants (eg heavy metals; PAH; Dioxins and Furans) and the performance of bioassays with native and transplanted species. Participate with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe International Cooperative Program on Effects of Air Pollution on Natural Vegetation and Corps. He has collaborated with the European Metals in Mosses Survey, carrying out campaigns in Galicia and Spain since 1994. In 1998, he created the pioneer Bank of Environmental Specimens of Galicia (BEAG) at the national level. In 2007 it is recognized as a Competitive Reference Group.
