A multidisciplinary approach to addressing the decentralization of the urban water cycle. D-PATTERN Project

Manel Poch Espallargas, Professor of Chemical Engineering and researcher at the University of Girona, will give this seminar on Tuesday the 26th at 1 p.m. at CRETUS.
Manel Poch is currently the principal investigator of the D-PATTERN project, «Interdisciplinary approach to evaluate decentralisation in urban water management: two case studies in Spain» in which CRETUS participates as a partner through PI Cristina Gómez Román and researchers from the Department of Basic Social Psychology and Methodology of the COSOYPA group: Sergio Vila Tojo, Lidia Guntín Mareque, and Andrea Correa. In this project, CRETUS contributes to the analysis of psychosocial and social acceptance factors that can facilitate (or hinder) the transition to more sustainable, decentralized water management models.
About the seminar:
Will urban water management be decentralized in the future? We don’t know, but the future begins to be written today, and those of us who work at Lequia and COSOYPA believe it deserves a rigorous and collaborative analysis, integrating different perspectives, because that’s how we’ll better understand this complex issue. In the presentation, we’ll analyze the project’s origins (why), explain what we do (who and how), where (Girona and Santiago), and, above all, what we hope to achieve (what for), hoping to have your support… and offering constructive criticism when necessary.
