My research career has focused on the study of the diversity, evolution, and adaptive processes of bacterial communities in aquatic environments.
My research lines focuses on the microbial communities present in wastewater capable of degrading microplastics. I also study the role of these communities in the removal of other emerging contaminants in biological wastewater treatment processes, as well as their role in the valorization of waste and wastewater.
