5th International Congress TechnoHeritage2024

CRETUS researcher Patricia Sanmartín and CIQUS researcher Massimo Lazzari (coordinator of the Spanish Network of Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage) are organizing, together with Santiago Pozo from UVigo and Jorge Sanjurjo from UDC, the V International Congress Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage (TechnoHeritage 2024)

From September 25th to 27th, the Auditorium of the Faculty of Geography and History of the USC, it will gather together 180 attendees in the perfect setting for the exchange of knowledge and ideas in science, with special relevance to Chemistry and Technology, for the Conservation of Heritage. The programme is structured into 5 thematic blocks:

  1. Characterisation and (bio)deterioration of Cultural Heritage
  2. From Plant Biology to Microbiology in Cultural Heritage
  3. Conservation strategies applied to archaeological sites and museums (characterisation, documentation, registration, monitoring and risk assessment)
  4. Interpretation and valorisation of heritage
  5. New materials and technologies for the analysis, protection and conservation/restoration of Cultural Heritage (including sustainable alternatives and those that consider data processing/chemometrics/machine learning)

In addition, for the first time, TechnoHeritage2024 will be held jointly with the 1st Biennial Meeting of the Specialised Group of Chemistry for the Study and Conservation of Cultural Heritage (GEQP) of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ).
